Hello all, I am trying to join 2 of my hosts to this project, but am getting that error when the hosts try to get work.

They were able to join the project just fine, but can't seem to get any work. I tried adding HTTP_1_0 to 1 in my cc_config file, but no go so far.

To update this, I tried on a host that is at a different site, and was able to connect.

These hosts that are getting the error are behind a proxy, but they are connected to other projects just fine.

I tried to use the HTTP URL for this project, but BOINC said it couldn't find a project. It only saw it at the HTTPS URL.

So it seems that the firewall between these hosts and the outside world does not like the drugdiscoveryathome.com website. It blocks that, but will allow me to go to boinc.drugdiscoveryathome.com

Is the scheduler at the non boinc address? Is there another address I can use to attach to the project?

Can you try using https instead of http?

I have to use HTTPS, if I use HTTP BOINC doesn't see the project when I try to attach.

Is there anything else I can try for these hosts?

I can give you the host ID for them from other projects, but they don't show up under my account here.

To be honest - I don't know, that I can't reproduce problem in my systems.
If you have static IP then maybe some logs on server will show it.

So the IPs of the 2 hosts I originally had issues with are 14.2.42.23 and 172.16.61.49 both using proxy at 172.18.85.130

I tried connecting my MacBook before and got the 403 error. I tried again just now and it fails at scheduler request failed: transferred a partial file.

That is at IP 10.116.243.54

Hey Jason, you may be able to attach using BAM. I do not usually use BAM myself but over the years i've had one or two occasions when it was the only way I could attach. If afterwards you do not care for BAM then just do as I did and disable it, it's easy enough to do after you've attached,

When other tools fail it can sometimes be a lifesaver and definitely good to remember when normal things don't work normally ;) After saying that if the servers IP is being blocked you may get attached and still not get work. But i'd sure give it a try, what have you got to loose?

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I put all of my work hosts into that, but still get the same error.

Great idea though, and I will keep using it since it makes it a lot easier to manage them all.

I have to suspect that the scheduler is not at the HTTPS://boinc.drugdiscoveryathome.com domain. I can easily get to that, and connect to the project, but if I try to go to the non boinc. site, the firewall blocks it.

I know this was discussed in another thread, but is there any progress on making it not hit on firewalls/malware filters?

BoincTask is also great if you have to manage more then two computers.

Im not sure that would help the connectivity issue though, since BAM didn't.

Also, on my MacBook it went back to the 403 error instead of the partial file downloaded error.

I can get the Mac to connect to the project just fine if I'm not on the Corporate network, so it looks like the scheduler is being blocked. Is there any way to get these hosts to use the https schedulers at the boinc. domain?

I just noticed that I am blocked from the http://boinc.drugdiscovery.com website as well. I have to use HTTPS.

That is probably why I am failing to connect to the scheduler. Is there any way to force BOINC to only use HTTPS?

I tried setting the scheduler to use the HTTPS site in the XML config file for the project, but it seems the scheduler isn't listening on HTTPS.

That is the only non HTTPS location listed, other then for the project buttons.
