Well, you know why already, but I'll spell it out for the hard of understanding in our midst.

1) 62Mb uploads for one hour of work. Great. My upload in one short period was higher than a usual week's worth, and as a result my ISP has now put me into 'penalty' state for the rest of the day. Oh joy. 1MB download, SFA upload. Probably also now tagged as a filesharer due to the traffic. As you know, DOCSIS on cable is desperately poor on upload, hence the penalty. Please please put a warning on the homepage before inflicting this carp on us - My whole family is now whining about slow internet access :(

2) Everything uploaded has resulted in "Can't validate". Now, I know this project is alpha and invite only, but (see above) - Jeez

3) This project, and H2, often render hosts unusable while thrashing the page file. You allow 512M machines to take work that realistically they cannot manage.

Sorry folks, game over for this project, and once I've cleared my caches H2 will be consigned to the NNW bin :( Shame. I had high hopes for both ...

Sorry you feel that way. Its hard for me to accomplish expectations when its a pursuit I only work on in my limited free time. If your worried about getting credits there are plenty of more stable projects out there. For the bad work I am granting credits. Due to some instability we do not always grant credits in a timely manner. I checked the error logs for the credit granting and it had some permissions issues.

If your worried about getting credits

Hehe!

As anyone who knows me knows, I don't care about credits. I wouldn't be crunching H2 if I did, as that must be pretty much the worst project for credit :)

Whatever, good luck, I'll drop in from time to time to see how things are.

Al.

p.s. D'oh, I hate to be picky, but "your" isn't the same as "you're" ;-)

1. a) We're an alpha project.
b) Things will go wrong.
c) If you can't deal with that, don't attach to alpha projects.
d1) Since we are an alpha project, no one here or at any other place has said you should attach a whole farm of machines with a 10 day cache.
d2) If you know you can get in trouble with your ISP, you'd best set up 1 computer (per platform) with as low a cache as possible.

2. Jack is granting all canceled work credit. I don't agree with that. We can just as well grant credit to all of you and have only Jack and me run the tasks, see if they work. Same thing, but for that it won't have the scheduler/assimilator/validator drop over. ;-)

3. Go to 1.
