I just had a bunch of new workunits delivered to my Intel Duo P8600 with 2 GB RAM.

That much is good, but about 80% of them bombed out with error 195, the rest I aborted because I hate error-laden stuff. I've had no problems with Windows workunits on this project.

My question is this: is this common with Apple workunits, or a temporary glitch?

well, your like the first, and i really mean it, the first to have darwin in a long time on here....

i don't think that app. has been updated in a long time...

it may be best to not run the autodock work on that computer until we update that app.

eta.... unknown..

Thanks - that said, I have watched three complete without a hitch. Will keep you posted, if you like.

Okay, of about a dozen that have run on the Apple, one only had issues: rcs_ga_run_10_bt_PMC1IJY.zip_lig_27835_ChemDiv_2291-1605_ts_1290423456793322000

If bombed out with error 195.

I have also sometimes this Error 195 but on my windows machine. 1 out of 100 - 200 WUs has this error.

Windows 7 64bit is my System with an i5 750 Lynnfield CPU

So this error might not be a Mac only bug

Ah, thank you, that's encouraging!

I'm pleased to say that, since my original post, there have been no major problems with work units on this Apple. This makes me happy.

All v4.19 rcs_ga_run WU's failing... all autodock_ga_run WU's succeeding...

The v4.19 rcs_ga_run WU's progress fine until they hit 50% and then lock up BOINC- all WU's in all projects freeze for a minute or so and then a 'computation error' pops up under the rcs_ga_run WU 'status' and then all other BOINC projects continue once again... the OS X system does not freeze as I was able to open the Activity Monitor to check the memory status to see if it had maxed out but all was normal... again, all autodock_ga_run complete without error.

I was just looking through old threads and i came across this...

Per Jack

If you have a mac and some experiencing with compiling, it might be helpful if you could compile one of these applications for me.

in relation to our current problem...

Any chance we could have the option in our project preferences to select which type of WU to run ie deselect the rcs_ga_run and keep running the autodock_ga_run?

Did somebody crunch any last 5.13 autodock rcs... task by 64bit Linux successfully?

As I can remember, autodock rcs tasks (5.11 on Linux 64bit) were OK about 2 or 4 weeks ago, but I am not sure I am right.

Wait, are you serious? I notified everyone about OSX errors earlier:

http://boinc.drugdiscoveryathome.com/forum_thread.php?id=117&nowrap=true#2433

FWIW, I was ignored, and never got a response:

http://boinc.drugdiscoveryathome.com/forum_thread.php?id=117&nowrap=true#2436

So I removed my machines, assuming I was just wasting my time. I will put them back on if something has changed. Let me know.
