Is there any chance of some Windows Work Units?

Or has this become a pure Linux project?

The credit values of the Windows wus are very low.

I have a mix of Windows machines and there seems to be no symmetry at all, whether they are more or less powerful.

I can only assume that they are all test wus.

It is because Windows mamchines are slower then Linux in Vina.

If Windows wus are slower In Vina then the most common result over the projects is to give a slightly higher credit to the wus that take longer to complete.

This shows that the project appreciates that as it takes longer in Windows.

It shows more commitment to the project by the Windows user and therefore some bonus credit for sticking with the wus and not aborting.

Tasks get credits based on how much work they have done. Giving more points to Windows only because they are slower will be unfair for Linux users.

So you are saying that the project favors Linux then and the Windows users will just have to put up with it?

No his say that linux work faster and nothing do favor an os, credit should be for real work done.

It up to users what they want to use and bonus system are bad to add.

Well, here we go again, no wus.

One of the primary things that I look for in a project, apart from what the project actually succeeds in achieving, is reliability of supply of wus.

DD is falling short in this regard which means that I'm having to constantly monitor my equipment to ensure that it is working to its capacity.

I have been very patient and now I'm going to ask:

1.) When will the wus be actually be doing something constructive?

2.) Has the testing finished?

3.) Will we be guaranteed reasonable continuity of wu supply?

4.) Better communication as to what is happening with the project.

I believe we all want the answers to these questions to enable us to plan ahead for the future as the project website does not answer any of them and is too short on information.

Looking forward to hearing from you, many thanks.

You should start your own project.

Wish I could, you got any ideas?

I'm willing to listen and so are quite a few at Gridcoin.

These are very small WU (Vina 0.01) for windows. The average cpu-time is only 130 sec.
I have finished 1.334 task, 67 failed and got 1.856 points.
I think for such small tasks here is a lot of overhead.

I agree with you the overhead is large for the credit achieved.

Lots of Windows Users and CPU's out here waiting for work.

If you can't find work for the Users to work on they will disappear to other projects and when you want them they will be gone.

Please post a News or tread update on Windows work to be released.

Thanks
