I have a couple tasks running on a fast machine for 3 hours, and showing less than 2% complete. Time to completion is 34 hours and climbing. Let them run?

Anyone home?

FYI, all the really long running tasks are erroring out after about 60,000 seconds. Here is a sample:

I wil be deleting any of these going forward, until it's fixed.

Yo! Sounds like my thread is the same as yours. Since this project is not known for extremely long completion times, I think I will implement your solution asap! I'm NNT for a bit. :-(

Hi Guys/Jack,

All of my recent WUs have run to ridiculous times. I've aborted several, including the last one at 44 hrs and 2% or 3%!!!

http://boinc.drugdiscoveryathome.com/results.php?userid=1398

If you need more info, just yell.

This really must be fixed. Hydrogen@Home is using mdrun 7.42 and their nsteps_2500000_*, which I presume is 2.5 million steps, finishes in less than 4 hrs. I suggest you grab their source and look at the diffs. I'm stopping until this is fixed as I'm frankly over the wasted time and it's been going on for far too long. Sorry.

mdrun should at most take 4 hours. Anything beyond that cancel.

So far I've been working 2 mdrun wu's. The Linux app seems a lot slower than the Windows app from my short term observation. Crunchers with hardware not that much faster than mine are getting done in about a third of the time. It took my computer 13 hours to finish a work unit that a Windows box finished in a little over 4. Is the Linux app being compiled for sse2 or higher?
